About us

Arvina Ltd (Arvina s.r.o.) is a Czech company which trades in old vintages and conveys exceptional moments to all wine lovers. The seat of the company is in Bzenec (Bzenec is a town in the south of Moravia). Our vintages come from the unique Bzenec´s archive, which was being generated for long decades by the national winery in Bzenec. The oldest wine lying in our archive comes from 1955.

The domicile of Arvina Ltd and of our other company Bzenia Ltd (which operates our winery) is Cellar No. 6, K. Čapka Street 1542, Bzenec. This cellar is a real jewel not only thanks to the exquisite quality of wines lying here, but also thanks to its history and architectural design. The cellar consists of three initially separate wine cellars, which were interconnected in 1905. This interconnection was made by Mr. Leopold Skála, the founder of the first Czech wine-association. The galleries of the cellar crisscross mutually and are more than 400 m long. Some parts of the cellar are more than 500 years old. The cellar is situated in the relic centre of Bzenec and lies partly under a Jewish cemetery. The galleries were excavated deep under the land surface so there is a steady temperature and humidity inside the cellar throughout the year. No less important is a well-considered ventilation through air channels, which lead up to the land surface (some of them lead to the Jewish cemetery). The steady temperature and the perfect ventilation create an exceptionally favourable atmosphere for long-term storage of wine.

Thanks to great performance of present and past cellarmen and thanks to the perfect conditions of our cellar wines from our archive adorn private archives of our customers. Many our customers store their wines in their private booths in our cellar.

Wines lying in the cellar constitute the most comprehensive collection of old vintages in the Czech Republic. Concerning wine varieties there are mostly wines typical for region of Bzenec, i.e. the principal variety is Rhein Rieslink (Ryzlink rýnský). There is also a rare collection of Bzenecká lipka wines – Bzenecká lipka is the most familiar and the oldest trademark in the Czech Republic, made from Rhein Riesling. However the variety range is much wider.
